Caruso’s California Fossils
Fossil Shark Teeth, Jewelry and Scrimshaw
Here at Caruso Fossils you’ll find a variety of unique fossils, hand made jewelry, and scrimshaw.
Most of our fossils are excavated near the famous Shark Tooth Hill outside Bakersfield, California. Our fossils come from a distinct formation approximately a foot thick, 50 square miles wide, and 16 million years old. The formation is exposed in a few remote localities where time and erosion have brought it to the surface. Where there is access to the formation we use hammers and chisels to break through the hard rock, slowly exposing an ancient marine world. Our main finds include marine mammal teeth and bones, fish, turtles, and an extensive selection of shark teeth.
